Panopticon - Social Disservices (2011)
Genre: Black Metal
Country: United States
Haven't heard a single thing from Austin Lunn that has let me down, and this is no different. Labeled as his darkest and heaviest work yet, I tend to think that overstates the heaviness here (his S/T I think is heavier) but this certainly leaps away from the relative mellowness of On The Subject Of Mortality. There is plenty of black metal excellence to be found here, and the concept of the album is one that is clearly true to Lunn's heart. Its power is right here on display.

Eskhaton - Nihilgoety (2011)
Genre: Death/Black Metal
Country: Australia
Unmerciful, destructive death metal from the land down under that will toss you into a dizzying tailspin for several hours. Throw a few Immolation and Ignivomous influences together with some seriously jagged, thrashy, at times blackened riffing/soloing and hellacious gutturals and you have yourselves one mother of a wretched and satanic steamroller waiting to come and plaster you into the ground.

Incrust - Baptized In Unholy Gore (2005)
Genre: Death Metal
Country: Brazil
Raw and acidic Incantation/Immolation/Autopsy worship with a very hideous and foreboding feel (As one can probably tell from the album artwork/title). Any fan of Craig Pillard will get a kick out of the vocals, which are bellowed out in a bottomless tone that sounds as if the beast emitting them was trapped in a sinkhole.

Skyrim Has Come
The lack of posts here over the past week (at least for me) has been due to one thing: Skyrim. So watch this power metal guy shred the skyrim theme song while I go back to playing the game. I can assure you that once he gets going this is really impressive.

Faustcoven - Rising from Below the Earth (2008)
Genre: Black/Doom Metal
Country: Norway
Pulverizing, yet catchy listen from these Norwegian doom mongerers. The catchiness can be attributed to a distinct Sabbath influence on the guitar work, which is blended with cutting old school black metal undertones and a trudging bass creating a pummeling low end, while the vocals carry a sort of twisted combination between Tom G. Warrior, Black Cactus from Von and a death growl with a bit of a raspy edge as well. Strongly recommended for listeners of both of these genres.
Also, a stream of the title track from their upcoming album, Hellfire and Funeral Bells can be heard here.

Esoteric - Paragon Of Dissonance (2011)
Genre: Doom Metal
Country: United Kingdom
Here's one that I had no idea was coming out: a new Esoteric album. Two discs, two hours of excellent doom metal that has some really dissonant melodies and a superb atmosphere. Highly recommended, along with the rest of the band's work. Most of their stuff is like 492356787 hours long but it's worth it.

Acid King - Busse Woods (1999)
Genre: Sludge/Stoner/Doom Metal
Country: United States
Dirty and crunching stoner metal from San Francisco with some really trippy vocals. If you are a fan of such bands as Electric Wizard and Sleep, there is no reason you shouldn't slap this on the speakers right now, take a fat toke and drift away into the monstrous riffs that this thing is chock full of.

Decrepitaph - Profane Doctrines Unburied (2011)
Genre: Death/Doom Metal
Country: United States
Excellent release from one of Elektrokutioner's (Father Befouled and Encoffination among his other outfits) primary projects. A fantastic guitar tone gives this a crushing sound, as it transfers between death and doom metal effortlessly. Septic growls that sound as if being forced through a hole in a coffin underground add to the atmosphere and some morbid melodies and solos also make their presences known. Definitely one worth checking out if you're into this type of thing.

Vordr - Vordr MLP (2009)
Genre: Raw Black Metal
Country: Finland
Vordr are consistently releasing quality material, and as long as they keep on this track they will remain as one of the better black metal bands to come out of Finland. While III wasn't the band's best effort, it was still a good listen for fans of no-frills, raw black metal. Vordr MLP I like a lot better, and is my favorite release from them since II back in 2005. Awesome vocals and some krieg riffs to hopefully usher winter in a bit early this year.
Plus "Weeping the Seas" rules.
